Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Calculator

Estimate your out-of-pocket cost

The estimator can help you calculate an estimate of your out of-pocket child care costs after applying the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) provided by the government.

The estimator requires you to enter your CCS% (Child Care Subsidy Percentage) which you would have been provided to you by Centrelink based on information provided when you registered with Centrelink (assuming you have completed your child care subsidy assessment). If any information is incorrect, the estimate will also be incorrect.

In addition, the calculator could produce inaccurate results in some cases as the calculator does not take into account:

  • Your Activity Test (your eligible hours per fortnight)
  • Additional Child Care Support

* The estimator is based on available data and formulae released by the government details of which can be found on the Services Australia website. The estimated net out-of-pocket cost is indicative only as no consideration is taken of your actual hours worked which is one of the key criteria required in determining the amount of the subsidy.

For a more accurate indication of your Child Care Subsidy, please complete our online enrolment form with your requested days. Please ensure to provide us with all the relevant information and correct CRNs.

Q: What is the Child Care Subsidy?

Child Care Subsidy is the main payment to assist families with the costs of child care. In most cases, where a parent/guardian qualifies for the Child Care Subsidy, the subsidy will be paid directly to Kool Kidzz as the child care provider, in which case, you only pay the Gap Fee.

Q: What is the Gap Fee?

The Gap Fee is the difference between the Kool HQ booking fee and the Child Care Subsidy you receive.

Q: How do I pay my Gap Fee?

All payment should be paid via a Direct Debit form (DDR) after completing the enrolment form process.

Where a parent/guardian qualifies for CCS, the fee charged is based on the gap fee due (this is the amount left owing by the parent/guardian taking into consideration the anticipated CCS).

The amount taking into account Child Care Subsidy is an estimate only. The exact amount will not be known until the attendances records have been submitted to DESE and calculated and confirmed by Centrelink, which can take up to 1 week from the last day of the program.
