Summertime is here, and to celebrate, we start our program with all things sunny and bright. Kool HQ kids will move softly and smoothly to the rhythm of sunshine yoga. They will make their own fluffy cloud dough—a light, soft, malleable dough that can be shaped into any form, like a drifting cloud. Race out their energy and warm up their bodies being chased along a grid in a game of Pacman and cool down as they put ingredients together to blend their own personalised milkshakes. Throughout this already full day, kids will practise their skills to showcase their talents in the Kool HQ Talent Show.

As the sun belts down on a warm summer day, what better way to cool down and have some fun than with water and ice? It’s a full day of splashing, sloshing, and sliding as we splash buckets of water to fill a bucket before the timer runs out. We slide ice down our own slick slides. We slosh paint onto paper and scrape, sliding colourful pools of paint to create our own masterpieces, and Kool HQ kids will also magic up their own walking rainbows in a science experiment that explores what happens when colours combine.

Games, tokens, prizes, and awesome inventors—today’s all about building our game zone empire! Using recycled materials, we’ll stick, cut, colour, and create together, making cool inventions. Kids will team up, plan, earn Kool HQ cash, and score prizes!

And we can’t miss Bullrush—everyone’s favourite game at Kool HQ! Kids race to the other side of the court, dodging the growing group in the middle.

We’ll also focus in on creating unique keyrings or fridge magnets with Hama beads, picking just the right colours and designs to make a one-of-a-kind keepsake!

Banana split, mini berry bowls, lemon sizzle, and fruit salad. What a lineup! Get ready for a day full of fun and creativity! We’ll explore science with sizzling lemon experiments, get active with playful monkey games, and whip up tasty treats like banana splits, mini berry bowls, and fruit salad—each crafted to your own unique style.

Plus, don’t miss our special Natural Jewellery Workshop, where children will create their own bracelets or headbands using natural fibres, beads, and shells. This hands-on experience celebrates Indigenous craft traditions and encourages creativity through natural materials.

A day of delicious food, laughter, and artistic exploration awaits!

Whoo hoo! Market day. This is the chance for all Kool HQ kids to cash in on their old toys and fall in love with some new market treasures. Complete autonomy goes to the children as they get to use their own hard-earned Kool HQ cash to buy and sell products—Toys, games, cookies, lemonade, and more. Go through the kids’ room and see what they’re willing to let go of for new goodies or cook something up together, so your kids can have the time of their lives. We also play a game of “golden child,” where kids team up to get hoops in a basket by a set time. On this special day, kids will each make and roll up their own sweet treats, a delightful mix of healthy ingredients to make anyone’s mouth water.

Can we achieve our goals? Can we improve our personal best? Let’s work together and try to be our best with this challenging but rewarding day of activities. This exciting day focuses on teamwork. We set up challenges for teams to overcome, an obstacle course full of adventurous turns and winding trails. We create our own rungs of a ladder to which we can metaphorically rise. We will build a structure that can support weight made from spaghetti and reward our achievements and our team spirit by making fun friendship bracelets that we can share with our friends. The day will end with a Talent Show where children share what they have learned and practised during the day to entertain and enthral their audience.

Have you ever spotted an animal hiding in the bush? They are masters of disguise. Today, we will learn how to mimic this skill! We will discuss and draw some animals in disguise and watch as our own self-drawn animals disappear in front of a wild environment background sketched by us. We will learn how to create our own camouflage out of natural materials so that when we go into the woods, we are camouflage ready and have the advantage! We will mimic our favourite Aussie native creatures in a game of Fire in the Forest, where creatures must run across a field without being caught by prey, and play a game called “Predator and Prey” that has us racing from predators while sticking close to our prey.

Game zone! Next level! Amp up the hype because today is focussed fully on play. Kool HQ kids use their Kool HQ cash to play Kool HQ stylised games for tokens. Those tokens will win prizes!

But that is not all—we also play loads of games throughout the day. A tricky game of dodgeball where skilled participants dodge balls coming toward them at pace, we make Wobble Animals that do not stand still—each unique and colourful. We will also make our own electricity out of a potato! (Yes, you heard me right, a potato!) and mash different savoury ingredients to create a dippy extra treat for our afternoon tea.

Let’s get crazy! Come with a fun hairdo and show off your fun frizz, wild woolly tail, plenitude of plaits, spikes, mohawk, or gelled-back look—perhaps it will still be to be revealed as you walk in with an unknown masterpiece atop your scalp. Once here, we will get into play, dress up or dress down, get circus skills rolling, create new hairdo designs inspired by friends’ choices or our own imagination. For a sporting challenge, you can race to the finish line in a relay, and to relax at Kool HQ, we add fun to fondue, dipping ingredients into a chocolate sauce to harden before being devoured by hungry participants. Lastly, Kool HQ kids can walk the catwalk in their own creations, showcasing the day’s achievements.

Let the fun fair begin as kids rummage through treasure to find the best possible goods to take home. This is one of the most exciting days at Kool HQ, where kids bring in items to sell and their own Kool HQ cash to buy from our Kool HQ market stalls owned and run by Kool HQ kids! Stalls we’ve seen before include lucky dips, muffins, massage stalls, nail salons, themed toys for sale, books for sale, and more. In preparation for this market, we will make our own market day signs, complete with products for sale, prices, specials, and more. We will also whip up rice paper rolls for our cooking experience, carefully wrapping each delicate bundle. To get our minds and bodies moving, we’ll play a fun game of Four Corners.

Get your inspector cap on for a day of mystery and subterfuge. Make a magical ink that disappears and can only be seen if you have the secret recipe to reveal the hidden message. Disguise yourselves in masks made in an artistic display of genius. Pretend to be a thief as you sneak, snatch, and steal balls from each other in a game of Rob the Nest. Can you track who is the leader as you watch the group all do the same actions as each other? Keep your eyes open and your ears to the ground as you wait for discrepancies in movement. Lastly, the day will finish with our Kool HQ talent show, where our weary detectives can relax and enjoy the show or impress and wow an audience from the best spot in the show—the stage.

We’re kicking off Chinese New Year early at Kool HQ with a vibrant day full of colour and movement!

Everyone will bring the celebrations to life by creating their own dragon puppets and colourful paper lanterns to light up the new year. For active fun, we’ll transform a street into an alley where everyone plays as cats and mice, chasing each other down the lanes. There’s also a chopsticks challenge to fill a bowl with peas, one by one, against the clock. We’ll cook a tasty Chinese treat—sweet rice—and wrap up with Chinese New Year trivia, so we’re ready for the big day!

Last chance this holiday to dive into games, win tokens, and score prizes! Kool HQ kids will bring their best ideas to create fantastic games in our Game Zone. We’ll brighten up the day with stained glass window designs and add pops of colour and light. For the soccer fans, we’ll hit the field for some energetic fun.

The afternoon will be buzzing with excited players, counting tokens and cheering, “Yes, I won!” and “More tokens, please!”

Australia Day is coming up! To celebrate our connection to this amazing land, we’ll explore its unique and magical qualities. Kool HQ kids will play animal movement games and try pairing up different Aussie animals. They’ll also paint using only natural materials, like ochre, and learn about fire’s power and safety. Kids will practise making a bow drill fire, an Indigenous skill, and play traditional games from the original caretakers of the country. We’ll wrap up with an inspiring Indigenous Dreamtime story.

As participants arrive, bags of toys, food, and surprises get loaded into fridges and boxes in preparation for a grand and outstanding Market. Children bring in supplies to create a Market Day. Stalls will eventually cover the yard, and smiling faces carrying Kool HQ cash will race between stalls, rushing to grab a bargain. Eyes wide with delight as they embrace either the sale of an item or a bargain to take home.

Before our Market Day starts, we will make signs to display in our stalls, play a high-energy game of capture the flag where teams race against each other to get the flags from their opponents, and get our dancing feet on for some Just Dance, moving to choreographed dances with wild fancy footwork and funky finesse.
