FAQs

I'm a new parent - how do I enrol my child?

For new families, the first step is to set up an account with Kidsoft. A government-approved child care management system that enables us to process your bookings as well as any child care subsidies that may apply.

When setting up your account, we require the following information:

  • Centrelink CRN numbers for parents & child/ren (if you don’t have this handy, you can provide it on a later stage)
  • Parent/guardians contact details
  • Children details, including medical history, diagnosis of allergy, asthma, anaphylaxis, dietary requirements or additional needs. If your child has any medical condition, be prepared to upload the supporting medical documentation.
  • Emergency contact details (other than parents)
  • Authorised persons for drop-off and pick up
  • Payment details

What is Market Day?

Market Day is a special day at Kool HQ where children become entrepreneurs. It has quickly become the most popular day at our camp!

The activity is held once a week where children buy, swap and sell their pre-loved items from home to create a stall with friends and lots of treasured goodies. Stalls may consist of riddles, guessing games, cake stalls, bookstalls, card swapping or general toy stalls. Ensure all food is NUT FREE. Children collect Kool Kidzz dollars during the week and extra is given out on the day to create a form of currency exchange.

Our young entrepreneurs enjoy being part of something extra extraordinary! Manage a fair bargain with friends and shop around in a market place atmosphere.

Children just cant wait to return back for another fun Market Day!

Can my child bring any electronics to camp? Eg: mobile phones, Ipods, games

Unless specified in our program, Kool HQ is a digital free zone from daily technology. We connect with people, places and the world around us to form meaningful relationships in a stimulating environment so that we can be involved learners.

Any electrical devices at camp will be kept safe and held in the reception area. If children need to bring a mobile phone to and from camp, they may hand them into reception on arrival and collect at the end of the day. If children request to call their parents during the day they are most welcome to do so at reception.

My child is attending alone and doesn’t know anyone else, will he/she be OK?

Absolutely!  Our teachers support children to form new friendships in each experience throughout the day.  It is so nice to see the strong bonds the children have after a day at Kool Kidzz as we do so many drama social games to break the ice, get to know each other games by name tags, team building activities and so much more. The social aspect is critical in shaping the child’s development to create long lasting relationships between both children and teachers which naturally builds confidence, self-esteem and self-resilience.

Children with Additional Needs

Kool HQ Programs are inclusion friendly. However, before enrolment, we do require detailed information about your child’s individual needs. If your child has high support needs, additional support may need to be accessed via the Federal Government’s Inclusion Support Subsidy (ISS).

The application process can take some time as we consult with inclusion agency and complete an assessment to determine how to best meet your child’s needs.

Contact us as early as possible to ensure that your child can access all aspects of the program.
